Capitol View Park is a 150 acre park in Frankfort with softball fields, soccer fields, picnic areas and a basketball court. Surrounding these areas are a great network of trails for the beginner and experienced mountain biker. The trails consist of mostly tight twisty singletrack, a few creek crossings, a fireroad, one downhill section, two whoop-de-do sinkholes and some jumps. The trails are mostly hardpack, with some small rock, gravel and grass sections. Trail conditions are usually good but rain can make riding slippery for a few days.
Capitol View Park lies just south of the Capitol building across the river. Take the East - West Connector (HWY 676) and turn north on Coffee Tree Road, then take a left on Glenns Creek Road. Park by the softball fields. You can start the trail in quite a few spots. There are a few trailheads off of the parking area and more down past the parking area at the end of the gravel road past the soccer fields. The best place to start (IMHO) is near the entrance to the parking lot on the left in the grass, this will take you past the basketball court and under a bridge (HWY 676).
