Hello all. I'm new to singletrack.net and looking for people/groups that regularly ride Capitol View. If anyone is out there please let me know, I'd like to meet some new people to ride with. Talk to you all later.
I have only ridden there a few times, but my buddy and I are planning on trying to make it a weekly outing on Thursdays. So keep an eye out for a youngin on a green Surly!
I'm an old school MTB'er and CVP is my local trail so I try to get out there a few times a week. I'm riding a gray/white Kona and drive a black Volvo XC90...if you see me, give a shout! I don't go fast, but I don't mind being dropped either...so I'll hang if I can but don't feel obligated to wait on me.
Yeah...this is where all the cool kids hang out! I'm back on the bike after a winter hiatus so I'm sure I'll start seeing more of the Singletrack peeps down at CVP. Keep the rubber side down and we'll see you on the trails!
I was wondering when people would start getting on the site again. Seems like it nearly shuts down in the winter months. Anyway, glad to have some people bring this place back to life!
I got out and rode CVP on Wedsnesday. Trails were great. Even the boggy parts were easy to cruise over. There were quite a few people out. Nice day to ride too.
I'll probably try to get back over there on Sunday. I'd like to eventually traverse the sinkholes, but I've only rode CVP by myself and won't try them if there's no one to pick my body up if I break my neck.
Let me know if anyone plans on getting out! I'm in Shelbyville, so I can be there in 25 mins.
I've ridden every day this week with the exception of Monday and I'm finally getting my rhythm back. Unfortunately there is a good chance the the impending deluge that is to occur on Saturday may make the trail too sloppy to ride this weekend so I'm sure my body will welcome the rest.
I usually hit the trails around 3:15 or so and ride for about an hour. If anyone is interested in joining me, the more the merrier.
How much rain did you guys get over there today? We didn't get much here in Lexington and were planning on riding about 8am, but if you guys got anything substantial it probably wouldn't be dry yet.
I haven't been on a trail since February. I've rode my road bike 960 miles since then but I'm dying to hit the trails again. Buckskin is closed till July because of Eagles nesting. Caney Loop is trampled to death by horses. I'm kinda sick of always riding Lakeview trail so i usually just grab my road bike. The wet weather pattern can't last much longer can it? I'm ready to drive to Cap view for a ride if we ever get a pretty weekend.
I hope we have some group rides in the near future, I really miss all the guys.
If you're free Jim you should do the group ride with us on Thursdays from the shop. We've been doing a 20 mile loop starting at the shop. It's the route we took on the singletrack group ride last year. Whenever school lets out bring Gonzo with you.

Rode today. Trails were nice, except the one's on the west side closest to the river. Very boggy there.

If anyone finds a pair of sunglasses on the trail (the west side, probably near the pick-nick area on the river) please leave them at the kiosk.
They were just some inexpensive shades, but worked great for riding. I forget what brand they were, but they are blue/gray and white polarized.
