I moved from Louisville to Columbus, Ohio, and let me tell you: You all have it made in Louisville ! There are only 2, yes that's right, 2 trails here in Columbus. Both are in a state park 20 miles from the city. They are nice trails, don't get me wrong, but each is only about a 6 mile loop, no hills....NO HILLS at all. Cherokee is more challenging than this crap ! And forget riding your bike to the trails, traffic sucks and this city is big. In Louisville, we could get to Cherokee on our bikes, or take the car to Waverly, Duffield, or Otter Creek in less time than it takes to get to the park here ! I have gotten fat and out of shape, and this weekend I will probably cheer for OSU....ugh. Seriously, though, Columbus is not too bad of a town, except for being so unfriendly for cyclist and mountain bikes.
Just want you all to appreciate what you have down there.
there's a discussion over at
there's a discussion over at kymba going on about Brown County (I think that's it?) It sounded like that had more mileage than that. Have you tried there yet?
If you ever get a chance,
If you ever get a chance, plan a weekend trip down to LBL (Land Between the Lakes) in western Ky. I think you'll enjoy the Canal Loop. And don't forget to give the North/South trail a ride. Welcome to the Area.
